Interview with Carol Scudeler, Student of the Diploma of Sustainable Operations at Envirotech Education

We interviewed Carol Scudeler, a student of our Diploma of Sustainable Operations here at Envirotech. Carol will be attending the Student Employability Accelerator Program (SEAP), a free program supported by Study Queensland, for students who are currently studying a CRICOS registered course in the state.

This opportunity will enhance the students employability, discover new job opportunities and improve their entrepreneurial skills through the Queensland start-up community.

 

We did a Q&A with Carol about her exciting new opportunity and how her studies at Envirotech have helped her enhance her career opportunities.

 

Q: Carol, how did you know about this program?

A: I knew about the program through a post on a Facebook page by the Honorary Brazilian Consulate in Brisbane.

 

Q: What motivated you to enroll in this program?

A: My motivation was the opportunity to study the theory around projects I have known in a real workplace, Learn new skills with the entrepreneurial and innovative mindset and how to work in a fast-paced company. I would also like to obtain real business experience in Australia to expand my social and professional networks.

 

Q: How were you selected for this project?

A: I was selected for the project by TravelbyBit.

The company´s vision is to facilitate genuine cryptocurrency adoption and enable users to travel the world using Bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies.

With the support of local volunteers, TravelbyBit has introduced a network of over 300 crypto-friendly merchants across major Australian cities, as well as a number of tourist destinations - including an entire crypto town by the Great Barrier Reef.

TravelbyBit's initiatives include enabling cryptocurrency payments at Brisbane Airport and being the world's first to roll out Lightning Network payments into the physical retail space.

 

Q: How are you feeling being apart of this project and how did the course you are currently studying help you to be prepared for this project?

A: I am very pleased I was selected to be one of 24 finalists out of 200 applicants. It is exciting to take part in this experimental learning opportunity of the Student Employability Accelerator Program.

The knowledge I received at Envirotech really enhanced my application and proves it continues to help me achieve and develop my career opportunities.

 

Q: How important will this project be for you and how can you relate it to the course that you are studying now?

A: Being apart of SEAP will help me with my future employment experiences and provide concepts for the Innovation Hub Program at Envirotech at the end of my studies. I believe working with other nationalities will enrich my learning experience and will assist me to understand other students point of view will assist building project solutions.

 

About the Program.

SEAP is a five-week program for international and domestic students delivered through online modules. The program also offers an opportunity for participants to join a real-life experimental project for a Queensland based start-up and engage in an active learning environment with other start-up enthusiasts, entrepreneurs and innovators.
